Lithuania-> Kretingos Marijono Daujoto pagrindine mokykla -> Kretinga Marijonas Daujotas Basic School is the educational institution, located in the Western part of Lithuania. There are 870 learners in our school, some of them have social problems (single or asocial parent families) living in material difficulties, coming from rural areas. 58 our learners have special needs, most of them work according to individual curriculum. The majority of our pupils has never been abroad and has a small view on what is going on and has a narrow view about the world as a whole. Therefore, it is very important to improve the quality of training and to ensure an opportunity for our learners to have social and cultural life, to encourage the international collaboration and move from the national to a wider European context. We work in a basic school with students of the age from 7 to 16 years old.
There are some students with special needs which have a lack of motivation and difficulties in learning, understanding and performing the English language as they do not see any possibilities to travel and use the language for their own needs in the nearest future. Also there are quite enough students who are at risk of social exclusion and have psychological problems in learning and motivation.
Participation in a project is a great possibility for our experiences both to children and to teachers, as the teachers have no possibilities to gain their experience abroad. Teachers work is oriented towards a child, so we would like to exchange possibilities and opportunities communicating in English, analyzing and sharing cultural differences.
As a rural region school we must prepare children for the future and support them with the information about the world and life in it. Project's activities could help our learning and make it more interesting and more attractive for students and teachers as well. Connections in this project could help in developing personal skills and students could be introduced with the actual information, the view on what is going on in the world. therefore, it is very important to Marijonas Daujotas Basic School to improve the quality of training and to ensure the opportunity for our learners to have social and cultural life, to encourage the international collaboration and move from a narrow, national, to a wider European context Lithuanian regional policy sustains a lot of problems. People, living in the regional areas have fewer opportunities in social and cultural life than those, living in huge cities.

Portugal -> Escola Básica e Secundária Gonçalves Zarco -> ESCOLA BÁSICA E SECUNDÁRIA GONÇALVES ZARCO is a post elementary and secondary school. Although it was created in 1968, in the beginning it served just as an annex to two other schools. Only in 1989 did it settle in its own building and began to cater for its own students. Today it has about 1520 students in the day time, whose age ranges from 10 to young adults and about 130 adult students who attend night classes. Its curriculum offerings cover several levels within the regular compulsory school attendance (from 5th to the 12th grade), but it also offers vocational courses and night classes for adults.
The majority of its students apply for general studies degrees. But recently, considering that the school is located in an economically disadvantaged suburban area of Funchal city (the great majority of its students come from low-income families, and most parents have only completed elementary school levels), the school has been paying greater attention to the vocational guidance of its students and started to develop more vocational training courses, according to the guidelines of its Educational Project. Most of the students, who attend these technical degrees, are economically disadvantaged, and because of that they are supported and followed by social welfare.
The School’s Educational Project also diagnosed that it needed to improve pupils’ learning outcomes, establish school attendance strategies and implement measures to prevent the dropping out of students who leave school even before they complete their opportunities for later job search.

Romania -> Colegiul National Ienachita Vacarescu -> The National College“Ienachita Vacarescu” has been for years on end the tip of the Dambovita county learning establishments.Under the attentive guidance of an exceptionally professional teachers , the students develop their skills and creativity, as well.
Placed in the downtown of the picturesque town of Targoviste, the National College“Ienachita Vacarescu” has been in existence for 134 years by now. The College extends teaching over the lower and higher secondary school. The higher secondary years has a theoretical orientation and has two main profiles:
- The theoretical profile – mathematics- informatics, and natural sciences
- The humanities profile- Bilingual, philology and social sciences
Foreign languages studied by various classes are: English, French, German and Italian.
The college is made up of three main bodies, with modern classroom, with laboratories for various subjects such as: physics, chemistry, informatics, modern languages two sports fields and three libraries with a considerable number of books.
At present, the college hosts 1113 students that come from the best schools in the area, selected after a rigorous contest and distributed to the profiles above mentioned.
The college’s students have always stood out in the national and international contests such as Olympiads, Cambridge exams and some of them have become eligible for scholarships in universities abroad .
National College "Ienachita Vacarescu" boasts the reputation of a Cambridge assessment centre, facilitating access to these exams. Many of our students choose to study abroad, mostly due to their exquisite school results.

Turkey -> Hasköy Ortaokulu -> The school is located around Golden Horn area in Beyoglu, Istanbul. It is a low-secondary public school which has approximately 964 students ranging from 10-13 years old. There are 12 classrooms and 1 computer Lab. And also there is an interactive whiteboard in each class.
The population is very mixed either from a financial point of view or from an intellectual capacity angle. The school offers a great variety of actions to fit the different students’ needs.
There are several pupils with special needs and they don't have any specific class at school. It means that they also go on their lessons in any typical class. They don't have much possibility to develop their skills. There are also several pupils with learning difficulties of different type (dyslexia, disorders) and immigrants from several Middle East countries.
Students are motivated to communicate, they are really interested in using the foreign language and digital literacy. But, they don't have any chance to go to abroad because of their families' limited budgets. This ERASMUS project will help them use English in their daily lives and pupils will learn about different countries and their cultures.
The whole team of teachers likes to invest themselves in many projects to keep the students’ interest alive. Teachers support the pupils and help them to develop their emotional intelligence and talent in order to let them achieve the key competences for their lives as teenagers and adults, citizens tomorrow in the society.

Italy -> IPS VERSARI MACRELLI -> The IPS Macrelli " Institute was founded in 2012 from the merger between the two originals Institutes with the objective to enhance the traditions and bet professional vocation of the former Institutes
Our school is therefore a technical and professional pole that for size, history and ability to enter into the territory, is characterized as a reference point for many sectors (government and corporate control, marketing and sales, social services, graphic design and provision of tourist services).
Our student reality shows that the majority of our young lives discomfort of adolescent condition and, somewhat more problematic case, it expresses displaying a lack of interest in school.
For these reasons we teachers are always engaged in finding new forms of pleasant and efficient teaching, such as Practise Firm for example. But not only!
In our region (Emilia Romagna), despite the short-term economic difficulties in this particular historical moment, the service sector still offers interesting employment opportunities, especially to those who are prepared adequately to the rapid changes of our times and available to continuing education.
The strategy for the educational success of all our students, future citizens, is distinguished by the close link with the economic, social and cultural realities of the territory, with the aim of fostering the integration of our students, after finishing the course of studies.
Our educational activities aim to raise awareness and engage students in ethical - social activities, to rediscover and take the Cesena area under the aspect of the historical, artistic and cultural, in collaboration with institutions and local government units (as Malatesta Library, the cultural center of San Biagio, the Bonci theater and the university ) .
Our five years courses are follows :
two years of school Obligation
two years of compulsory education
last year for state examination ( maturity examination ) and then enter in university
Our courses are :
social services (acquire skills to organize and implement interventions oriented to the social and health needs of people and communities, for the promotion of health and bio - psycho -social welfare)
business services (obtaining skills to help companies, both in the management of administrative processes and commercial and in the promotion of sales, in regional, national and international contexts)
graphics (gain skills to promote corporate image, especially in the area of communications services, sales promotion and in the design and technology; skills useful for visual and advertising communication) .
Our students can enter in the work world even at the end of three years. They must acquire the qualification of 3 EQF in secretarial administrative operator, store operator, promotion and tourist reception operator and graphical operator
Our training offer also extends to an evening class, which can capture the state Diploma of Technician of commercial services. The course, attended exclusively by students who are 16 years, allows the full realization of lifelong learning aimed at adults .
Our school walks on two routes (Culture in the sense of the person and the company's culture ) that meet, that intertwine and ultimately, lead to a single goal: the student who he became a citizen and a thinking and competent person.

Platon is a school with future perspective. The school pursues with great interest and a creative mind the developments in the field of education; it constantly sets new goals holding at the same time an outstanding position in the educational scene. Platon schools (Kindergarten – Elementary – Gymnasium – Lyceum) is a modern educational institution with 530 learners and 83 staff. Through the use of the most up-to-date facilities, a diverse curriculum, experienced and skilled teaching staff and, most importantly, through consistency on principles and respect towards pupils and parents, our school has been struggling during the last ten years for the accomplished education of our pupils.

Through the newly founded Research and Innovation Department the participation of Platon in international programs of design, implementation and assessment of innovative pedagogical methods and materials is pursued. The Centre of Research and Innovation actively involves itself in the design of advanced educational materials, both conventional and electronic. The main aim is the exploitation of state-of-the-art technologies in the education process so as to enhance teaching and learning. The tools developed within the framework of educational programmes are the result of cooperation and joint efforts amongst specialists from a variety of academic fields, with a major focus on information technology, teaching and learning studies. Member of the international consortium of e-learning Changelearning which aims to pioneer new and innovative methods in learning design and delivery http://www.changelearning.eu/.
